Stage of development
Implementation-year 4
Community concern(s)/issue(s) addressed thru CFAA initiative
GUYC does not believe in focusing on concerns. Our entire process is committed to ensuring that community projects which we initiate, partner, or otherwise have an opportunity to influence, adopt an asset based approach. Our partnership has had the opportunity to support efforts in communty cleanups, adult and child day care, community center development, a kinship care project, as well as a major county wide methamphetamine task force, among other projects.
Key strategies used to address issue(s)
Our key strategies have been built around utilizing community forums, this past year around substance abuse and particularly methamphetamine issues in the county. Continuing dialogue around defining sustainable options for the group has also been a priority, resulting in our latest strategic planning process.
Major activities planned for this year
- Rejuvenated partnership
- The development of a training institute focused on asset based approaches & practices
- The launching of quarterly informal networking gatherings as well as regular community coffee talks around community-requested issues.
What do you hope will be different because of your CFAA work?
We will be able to sustain efforts to continue to engage one another and the broader community around collaboration and asset based community development, continuing to improve quality of life in Yavapai County.
