Key strategies used to address issue(s)
- Formation of educated and functioning advocacy group with cross -generational representation
- Development of formal advocacy and media plan to promote transit- oriented housing and cross -generational living.
- Creation of a newsletter to increase awareness and use of available local services regarding transporation and housing
- Development of a home maintenance program to improve conditions of homes occupied by older adults and people with disabilities.
Major activities planned for this year
- Develop a home maintenance program to serve the elderly and disabled.
- Develop and distribute a bi-annual newsleter, including information on local affordable housing developments and programs and transportation services.
- Develop and train a cross-generational advocacy group
What do you hope will be different because of your CFAA work?
- The agency envisions a community with greater cohesiveness around issues including housing/development policies across generations.
- Greater respect and understanding between the ages.
- Adoption of intergenerational policies focused on both transit- oriented and cross- generational housing.
