Baltimore, MD

The Baltimore Community Foundation is a private philanthropic organization created by Baltimoreans to serve the current and future needs of the Baltimore region. Representing the common interests of a diverse pool of donors who care about Baltimore, BCF deploys grants, initiatives and advocacy to address issues facing the region today, while building a civic endowment to address the needs of future generations.

Beginning in 2012, BCF will focus its efforts on education and neighborhoods, with the goal of creating successful schools and successful students, and safe, clean, green and vibrant neighborhoods.

An initiative of BCF’s, Neighbors in Deed is the Baltimore site of the Community Experience Partnership, a national initiative funded by Atlantic Philanthropies to connect older adults with these opportunities. A Neighbors in Deed community, Highlandtown, is also supported by Communities for All Ages.

BCF is partnering with CFAA to create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in their communities, because projects that are inclusive tend to be more sustainable over time.  Together, BCF and CFAA are expanding existing programs and creating new ones to help more individuals and neighborhoods participate in making Baltimore better.
