Charles Village
Charlges Village, a neighborhood in urban Baltimore is diverse in its assets and resources. Greater Charles Village has strong partnerships with municipal, nonprofit, faith-based, community associations, and other organizations that work together on issues in the neighborhood.
Charles Village has a strong history of intergenerational work through its Experience Corps program, as well as other programs, but the hope is that CFAA will provide opportunities to become intentional about bringing individuals of all ages together. The Charles Village team is currently in the planning and assessment phase as a foundation for plans to create opportunities for residents of all ages to volunteer with Barclay School, Margaret Brent Elementary school, and the Village Learning Place. By using the methods and framework of CFAA, the core team will develop an initiative that encourages families with young children to remain in the community by using volunteers to strengthen public schools and creating broader community involvement with the schools.
